POTHOLED SHIVMANDIR BECOMES A TERROR FOR THE RESIDENTS

Webdesk, TNI Shivmandir (Siliguri), 5th June, 2015: Huge Potholes has been seen in Shivmandir area of Siliguri subdivision. The potholes are so large that one can sail through. The residents are actually facing the problems for quite some time. According to one of the residents “The matter has been reported to the local panchayat many times but with no solutions”. Incidentally, many important institutions and offices are located in the area with the connector road on which potholes exists. A University, Military Barrack, Various Secondary, higher secondary and primary schools, BDO office, Panchayat office etc are located in the area, resulting in huge amount of vehicular traffic rush, which is further deteriorating the road conditions. Potholes at Haler Matha area and BSNL office more are the bigger ones. However, no strong step has been taken by the authorities to solve the problem. Incidentally, the roads here remain unrepaired for the last 2-3 years according to some residents of the area. No officials were available in GP or BDO office when our correspondent reached the respected offices.
